joan faces a harsh reality in new song “lucid dreaming”

joan is an indie pop duo from Little Rock, Arkansas. 2025 has been a big year for them – sharing various singles fans love, recently wrapping up a tour with Bloc Party, and announcing their latest album, this won’t last forever, which is set to be released on September 25th. Their new song “lucid dreaming” focuses on running out of time. 

“lucid dreaming” is about reaching the end of a relationship. Through punchy percussion and leading vocals, joan grapples with the feeling of a potential breakup in their future. Their lyrics describe their desire to stay with their partner forever, yet sensing their time together is quickly coming to a end.
