Virginia-based artist James Wright, known as Jimmy & the Veil, released the emotionally charged single “Weightless” this week. Featuring Andrew Wells of Dance Gavin Dance, this empowering single shows the battle of mental health and the journey of accepting oneself despite past mistakes. Known to have lyrics about imposter syndrome and the struggles of mental health, Jimmy & the Veil delivers raw emotional depth to the indie alt-rock scene.
“Weightless” follows the release of other popular hits “Blink Twice,” “Aggressive Sales Tactics,” and “Diamonds” all released in 2024. When speaking on “Weightless,” Wright says “I was stoked to have Andrew work his magic on this track with me, he’s one of my heroes in the scene, a true artist and an incredibly hard worker.” Adding Andrew truly makes the two a dynamic duo, and we can only hope they collaborate more in the future.
