In March, alt-pop artist Isabel LaRosa released her debut album, Raven. The 14-track project contained hits like “Home,” “Muse,” and “Cry For You,” all of which are strong representations of Isabel and her personality. By incorporating who she really is in these songs, she has made an album that is personal, dark, and moody—and the raven served as the perfect representation of these themes. Since then, Isabel went on tour in support of Raven, where she was able to further introduce and immerse fans into her dreamy and cinematic world. She also released “My Girl” in July, which already has upwards of 10M streams on Spotify alone. Needless to say, 2025 has been a great year for Isabel, but it’s not over yet.
There can be a million reasons why someone chooses to be in a relationship. Some are good, such as the need for companionship and stability. Some are bad, like wanting to make an ex jealous. And then sometimes, no matter how much they want to get over someone, some people can’t help but think back to their ex—despite being a new, loving relationship.
On her new single, “Her Face,” Isabel looks back on a former love. Throughout the moody ballad, she reflects on the person she is with, knowing that they would rather be with someone else. Her vocals are hushed yet angelic as she sings lines like, “It’s 3 a.m. now / You kiss me on the couch / And she’s not around / But she’s still on your mouth.” It is evident that this breaks her heart, and it is even more so when she sings, “You would’ve stayed / If I had her face.”
