Australian punk band Human Dinosaur Machine has just debuted the second single from their upcoming album, “Trash”. Highly infectious with dark undertones, this song will have fans new and old hungry for more.

The 30-second intro immediately showcases the band’s quirkiness, comprising instruments you wouldn’t typically find in a rock song. The sound of an organ and bottle percussion ushers us into the track before the vocals kick in. The vocals are calm but filled with attitude as they’re joined by a punchy electric guitar. The song picks up speed for a short chorus before settling back into its original rhythm.

Around the 2:30 mark, the guitars and drums pick back up, driving the song forward while the contrasting vocals stay calm against the dynamic musical backdrop. The vocals are given the opportunity to really shine during the bridge, with the lyrics “it’s all just trash” being the most emphatic. A sorrowful fiddle shows us to the end of the song, accompanied by the occasional piece of bottle percussion. They’ve also released an accompanying music video to match:

“Trash” follows the release of the popular “Ventilator”, the first single from their upcoming album. If you like these two singles, keep your eye out for their self-titled debut LP, due to release in early 2024.
