honestav is one of those rare artists whose music resonates with a wide range of people who come from different walks of life. Having endured unimaginable loss—the deaths of both his father and brother—he has channeled his grief into his art, proving music as a powerful coping mechanism.
Last year, the world began to truly listen to the Missouri native with his breakout single, “I’d Rather Overdose,” a track that spoke to Mod Sun, landing him a spot as an opening act for select dates of his North American tour. Now, honestav returns with another captivating single, “Wasted.” This track carries a nostalgic vibe reminiscent of Nelly’s “Ride Wit Me,” while exploring the hazy line between fleeing reality and falling into the habit of self destruction: “We’ve been on this shit since we was eighteen / It’s so hard to leave this city, man, it raised me up / I done found some money in a daydream / Now i’m stuck inside my sleep and you can’t wake me up.”
“Wasted” made its debut at ACL Music Festival and is a preview into what’s to come on his upcoming sophomore EP, arriving sometime in 2026. The single is accompanied by a music video where honestav took a gamble by risking half the videos production budget at roulette tables in Las Vegas, and it paid off!
