Getting nostalgic with Rainbow City Park’s “Valentine’s Day 1999”

Date:

California-based Rainbow City Park is an indie rock/pop group whose music sounds just as dreamy as their band name. The band’s beginning was formed right after the height of the pandemic in 2021 after guitarist Chris O’Keefe set out to find the perfect blend of musicians to create his ideal indie group. After their first run of singles in 2022, Rainbow City Park got the opportunity to open for Japanese Breakfast & The National Parks in Sacramento, where the group continues to rehearse. They’ve got a long month of shows in California planned out, and you can find dates and information here.

Rainbow City Park’s latest single is “Valentine’s Day 1999”- a nostalgic, melancholy anti-love letter despite the title. Vocalist Dani Judith sings about existentialism and searching for meaning whilst looking back at her youth. This track combines 90s guitar & bass melodies with Dani’s crisp vocal takes & harmonies, giving the song a reworked vintage feel to it. The little background “oohs” in the chorus are addicting and catchy, so we’re positive that you’ll learn the words to this track in no time. Whether you have a Valentine or you don’t, “Valentine’s Day 1999” is a new release you won’t want to miss out on this year.
