Ellysse Mason and Callum Spencer move on in new song “Blowing Smoke”

Date:

Ellysse Mason’s genuine storytelling propelled her into fame. She uses her personal experiences coupled with crunchy guitars and captivating vocals to create music easily relatable to her fans. On her latest release, “Blowing Smoke”, she has teamed up with Callum Spencer to create an indie pop breakup anthem.

“Blowing Smoke” is about the breaking point of a partnership. Through emotional vocals and powerful percussion, Ellysse Mason and Callum Spencer have reached dead ends in their relationships. The chorus sings, “You’re blowing smoke on the side of the road / And I kind of hoped we’d have it out here on the pavement / You don’t want to wake your neighbors / Are you still waiting for something to save us?” showing that these relationships are no longer growing, so the only option left is to end them before they get any worse.

Sharing more about “Blowing Smoke”, Ellysse Mason comments:

“It’s a breakup song where we are blaming each other and not seeing sense on how we’re both hurting each other. It’s our representation of what it feels like to be in the thick of it, where the f***ery and fire punctures the surface of an argument and it reaches boiling point. These are what I see as the points of no return in a relationship where we say things that basically mean there’s no turning back… I think ‘Blowing Smoke’ is a pretty accurate representation of not just mine and Callum’s lived experiences, but of almost everyone who has ever been in love.”
