Dolorous is back after a two-year hiatus with new single “A Heart Like A Steel Trap”

Date:

Back with a bang, Dolorous announces his debut album Mercury Lake alongside the first single, “A Heart Like A Steel Trap.”

The new single blends a synth-laden instrumental with reverb-drenched vocals to create an easy breezy atmosphere. Contrasted with melancholy-tinged lyrics, “A Heart Like A Steel Trap” is the perfect indie pop winter anthem. Dolorous’ lyrics express the frustrations of not being able to control your own emotions while looking back on past regrets highlighted by the repetitious chorus, “I got a feeling / Drive my emotions to the ceiling / Some nights the hero / Some the villain / All undone / I can’t explain it at all.” Check out the accompanying music video below:

Building off of a catalogue of singles spanning all the way back to 2020, Dolorous is creating a more fully realized, mature sound indicative of an exciting new album.
