Connor Price has announced the release of his debut album for Sept. 26. The first single off the project, “Dialed In,” was released last Friday, accompanied by a music video. Fans can sign up for album alerts, including limited merchandise and vinyl editions, here.
Since debuting with his EP, 4 of Clubs, in 2018, the Canadian child actor turned rapper has achieved impressive numbers as an independent artist — he currently nears 10 million monthly listeners on Spotify.
In an Instagram post, Price shared the news of the anticipated release in a series of images where he explained, “As an independent artist, the best strategy to gain momentum was to drop consistent singles. Which worked, very well.”
He honestly opened up about feeling scared to pull the trigger:
“I was afraid to drop an album. I had a fear that fans would lose interest in me if I wasn’t constantly dropping singles. But I realized that’s a “me” issue and that I’m not doing myself or my music justice by not taking the time to create an album that can allow my fans to get to know me on a deeper level.”
While the project’s title is currently unknown, Price confidently promises his followers the music will be worth the wait as they can expect “elevated lyricism and production” paired with a cohesive theme throughout the 16 tracks.
Price has shared a behind-the-scenes video of the cover shoot to his YouTube channel, where he has over 4.6 million subscribers:
