A brand-new tribute album celebrating jazz trumpeter and vocalist Chet Baker, titled Chet Baker Re:imagined, is due out May 16. It will feature reimagined versions by different artists, with Decca Records (UK) and Blue Note Records (US) recently releasing a new single from the project.
The new version, Matilda Mann’s rendition of Baker’s classic song “There Will Never Be Another You.”
The new album will feature both emerging and established artists from various genres, including dodie, Matt Maltese, mxmtoon, grentperez and Benny Sings. Its ability to blend genres is palpable, as Mann’s fresh perspective to the song features her delicate vocals along with a lush string arrangement that emulates Baker’s classic With Strings album.
This marks the 70th anniversary of the seminal album, Chet Baker Sings.
