Last year, fans of soulful singer-songwriter Chelsea Jordan were treated to two very beautiful and evocative singles. These were “halfwaythru” and “level out,” which have become fast fan favorites. Even though it was released just a few months ago, “level out” already has over 1M streams on Spotify alone and has received significant praise from Atwood Magazine. Meanwhile, “halfwaythru” has over 6M streams on Spotify and over 2M streams globally. These releases set her up for a notable 2026, which finds Chelsea embarking on her very first tour at the end of March with Ruel. Those who have been vibing with Chelsea’s music will finally get to witness them in person, and if all goes well, they might even get to hear her new single “picky choosy.”
On “picky choosy,” Chelsea finds her own worth. She lets fans know that they can give themselves everything they deserve, without anyone else stepping in. With her sweet and soulful vocals, she sings, “I gotta lotta love to give and I’m not gonna waste it / On somebody else / Who wants all the nice things / But they can’t afford it / So, I’m gonna give it to myself.” It’s an empowering anthem, filled with a sleek yet refined confidence. By the end of the track, you want her to be as picky and as choosy as she wants—while reminding yourself to do the same.
Elaborating on “picky choosy,” Chelsea shares,
“‘picky choosy’ is a song about choosing yourself after losing yourself in others. This is my self-worth and self-protection anthem. It’s taken me a while to truly understand how great I am, and while I try not to ruminate on it too much, I’ve wasted a lot of time on people who didn’t deserve it. So, now I’m extra picky with who I choose to surround myself with, and I hope this reminds you to, too.”
