Casino Havana Points the Camera At You in “CCTV”

Date:

Let’s jam folks. This is rock and freakin’ roll.

In “CCTV”Casino Havana maximizes the power of no-nonsense rock to deliver a message on the purveilin’ surveillin’ powers that be.

3 chords is all a good band needs to send a message and get an anti-establishment party started. Casino Havana uses this maxim to their advantage and basically runs the majority of this track on 3 chords. Triangles are the most structurally sound shapes, after all.

They adeptly differ from this structure to drop you into a hook that’s 2 bars long and falls right back into the main riff. This loops and has you singing the chorus with them by the second time.

After the second chorus section, the bass gets to shine. This is a dirty bass tone. A dirty, filthy bass tone. It sets the foundation for a Rage Against The Machine-esque riff that repeats as the vocals repeat a refrain about a man in a tower with a gun in his hand.

We all know we’re being watched all the time. It’s written in the social contract at this point. Casino Havana flips the bird to all the cameras in this fiery new single.
