Cam is set to release her third and highly anticipated album, All Things Like, on Friday, July 18, via RCA Records.
The album marks her first full-length project since The Otherside in 2020. Last month, she released the single “Alchemy,” which arrived alongside a second track from the album, its opener, “Turns Out I’m God.” Both tracks are rich with introspective themes, layered vocals and intricate melodies. The opener also debuted with a visual directed by James Mackel.
Cam said the song was inspired by a speech from philosopher Alan Watts, who spoke about how all people contain elements of God.
“I wanted this song to express that idea humbly, asking how we might live our lives if we acknowledged that we are all God together,” she said in a statement.
All Things Like is said to be Cam’s most visionary project to date. She cites both the solitude of the pandemic and the experience of becoming a mother as major influences.
Her daughter, Lucy, has been a source of inspiration, often asking deep questions about life and death. Cam said this sparked her desire to create a body of work that could offer insight Lucy might carry with her throughout life.
The album comes on the heels of Cam’s Grammy-winning songwriting contribution to Beyoncé’s 2024 album, Cowboy Carter, which won album of the year.
Cam worked closely with longtime producer Tyler Johnson and a notable lineup of collaborators, including Michael Uzowuru (Frank Ocean, SZA), Ethan Gruska (boygenius, Phoebe Bridgers), Jeff Bhasker and others.
To mark the release, Cam will perform a one-night-only, intimate preview show at the Tabernacle in London on July 10. Tickets are on sale now.
