Over a year and a half has passed since their second studio album READY TO EAT and BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT has officially kickstarted their new era with new single “ON YOUR LIPS.”
“ON YOUR LIPS” marks a turning point for BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT, dabbling in a heavier sound that fans haven’t heard before. The LA-based rock band layers gritty guitar riffs and experimental production to create a boundary-pushing sonic soundscape. The edgy new single feels euphoric and has an addictive hook that will have fans singing along all summer long: “But you know I love that shit / The way your clothes don’t fit / The way you go to sleep with your retainer in / I wanna taste your spit / I wanna be your bitch / I’ll be a real good boy / I know you like that shit / Cause on your lips is where I.” They elaborate more on this new single:
“This song is our first big leap into a sound we’ve never harnessed before. It’s experimental, rhythmic, heavy and fun all at the same time. For us it means maturing into our sound and showing we’re not the same kids we were when we started this project 5 years ago. For the fan it’s meant to be a track they put on at parties, late night drives, and all the cinematic moments you wish you had a score for in life.”
Since their debut in 2022, BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT has amassed over 60 million streams globally and has grabbed the attention of major artists in the scene including blink-182, whom they joined on tour as the support act in 2023.
