Indie-pop staples Bad Suns announced their fifth studio album, Accelerator, will arrive August 8 via Epitaph Records.

More than a decade after their debut, Accelerator finds Bad Suns reflecting on their journey while stepping into the future. The album marks a milestone: their first full-length project as a trio.

Alongside the announcement, the band shared “Slow Karma,” a shimmering track that sets the tone for the record. For Bowman, the song is a cathartic reflection on sobriety, growth, and choosing a better path forward. “Getting sober is really hard, but then it quickly becomes the most rewarding thing in the world,” he shares. “I can’t control the world around me, but I can control the way that I react and move through it.”

Accelerator builds on the momentum of their 2023 EP Infinite Joy, a project the band credits with reigniting their creative spark. Featuring 12 tracks that blend infectious dance-pop melodies with raw, introspective lyrics, the new album promises to retain the magnetic energy that first put Bad Suns on the map with early hits like “Cardiac Arrest” while signaling personal evolution.

To promote their new music, Bad Suns will embark on a summer headlining tour making stops in Milwaukee, Detroit, Fresno, and more. Purchase your tickets here.
