Avery Lynch is a master of heart-wrenching and relatable lyrics that tug at your heartstrings like no other. On July 18, Lynch will be releasing her upcoming single, “Sweetheart,” ahead of her forthcoming — currently untitled EP, which is due out this September.
The new single, “Sweetheart,” is described as “a bittersweet reflection on how toxic relationships can distort our understanding of love.”
“‘Sweetheart’ reflects on the early days of my relationship and how quickly I realized that what I’d accepted in the past wasn’t love,” Avery shares. “I remember being surprised—and embarrassingly impressed—by him asking me follow-up questions, walking me home, and genuinely wanting me around. It was eye-opening to be with someone who cared about me and wasn’t afraid to show it.”
