Three of the most successful female rock artists of our generation joined forces today on a brand new single “End of You.”
Last Tuesday, Amy Lee (Evanescence), Poppy, and Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox) teased fans in a cryptic Instagram post of their collaboration, posing behind a muted blue background dressed in all black.
Today, the wait is finally over. The dynamic trio has also surprised fans by releasing their first collaborative music video.
The “End of You” is a dystopian fantasy where a faceless antagonist is wrapped in gauze, hyperfixated on capturing the stills of the music video itself. With Lee, Poppy, and LaPlante showcasing their power through each individual aesthetic, the golden trifecta banded together in letting go of the intimidating fear of what the anonymous figure wanted to instill in them.
Sonically speaking, “End of You” is the dream collaboration we never knew we needed. From Lee’s classic yet spellbinding vocals, to Poppy’s delicate and intense vocals, and LaPlante’s bold false cord screams, each artist has captured the meaning of using their diverse talents in bringing a strong, well-rounded song to life.
As of late, the three musicians have taken the alternative rock genre by storm.
Known for being the lead vocalist, songwriter, and pianist of Evanescence, Amy Lee is the blueprint of early 2000s rock. With two Grammy nominations under her belt, 5 studio albums, numerous global tours, and spending months on the Billboard Top 10 while selling more than 17 million copies worldwide, Amy Lee continues to be the female pioneer our generation of aspiring rock vocalists. Highly recognized for Evanescence’s 2003 debut ‘Fallen’, “Bring Me To Life” is a single that is in the hearts of OG alternative fans. Reaching more than 1.3 billion views on Youtube, ‘Fallen’ was the magum opus of Amy Lee’s career.
Over the past 18 years, Evanescence have continued to top Billboard charts with music that’ll last a lifetime. In March of 2021, Evanescence released their fifth studio album ‘The Bitter Truth’ featuring the song “Better Without You” — spending 27 weeks on the top 10 US Rock Radio. Currently, the band’s recent single “Afterlife” made it to a Netflix series called ‘Devil May Cry’ which topped a #1 on the US Rock Radio Chart; making it the first time Evanescence reached that milestone. Coupled with solo featured singles and an upcoming album from the band that is expected to drop next year, Amy Lee is no stranger in never failing to amaze us with immense talent.
Poppy is having an exceptional year. As of late, she was nominated for best metal performance at the 2025 Grammy awards with rising hardcore band Knocked Loose for their collaborative project “Suffocate.” Following this milestone, she previously made history in 2021 as the first female solo nominee in this category for solo record “BLOODMONEY.” Today, Poppy kicks off her upcoming “They’re All Around Us” tour in North America from her latest album ‘Negative Spaces’. As a jack of all trades, Poppy dabbles in all forms of creative art. From genre-binding hits, video direction, and even being a sci-fi graphic novel author of “Genesis 1”, Poppy is an artist to watch out for in the industry.
Courtney LaPlante is the frontwoman and vocalist of Spiritbox. Since of breakout success of the band’s debut album ‘Eternal Blue’ (which debuted #13 on the Billboard 200), Spiritbox has continued to break genre boundaries with Courtney’s emotional range and vigorous intensity at the forefront. With Grammy back-to-back nominations in honor of their ‘Fear To Fear’ EP (“Jaded in 2024 and “Cellar Door” in 2025), their sophomore album ‘Tsunami Sea’ debuted #1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Album’s chart — further establishing Spiritbox’s reputation as rising innovators. Overall, Courtney continues to give her all in redefining modern rock music.
