Over the summer, London-based artist Allegra delivered “Wildfire,” a fiery dance-pop single that touched on burning love and desire. It secured the number one spot on the Music Week Commercial Pop Chart, a place that Allegra has reached before. She is known for her engaging and versatile style, whether she is crafting dance hits or emotive pop songs. Either way, fans can’t get enough, so Allegra is gearing up to give them more than what they’re ready for.
On November 6, Allegra will release her sophomore EP, Red. The project will contain five tracks that get into a vast array of emotions and styles, ranging from modern and breezy to tender and heartfelt. Fifth Element PR has described the EP as Allegra’s “most confident body of work to date,” as it will feature a sharper, bolder, and more mature sound for her overall. She gives us a taste of what to expect with the release of “Red,” the title track.
With pulsating bass, lush synth lines, and sensual lyrics, “Red” is a work of art that was made for the dance floor. Allegra delivers wispy yet confident vocals as she sings lines like, “I don’t play nice / So, don’t you think twice / You won’t make it out alive / Hands on my waist / Give you a taste / But you’re running out of time.” She brings this fierce energy to the visualizer below, where we see Allegra moving to the beats and getting down with her dancers. All the while, she sings and makes strong eye contact with the camera, piercing through the shades of red that illuminate her.
