Alexa Kate Perfects Heartache Pop in “Why Should I Be Sorry?”

Singer-songwriter Alexa Kate has released her third single, “Why Should I Be Sorry?”, the final track that will precede her debut EP. Influenced by powerful female artists such as Taylor Swift, Alexa Kate has been a songwriter for as long as she can remember and is determined to share her most authentic voice in her music. 

Alexa Kate has developed a strong social media following, where she hosts TikTok lives nearly every day. She shares a lot of her life with her followers so that she can best connect with them—making transparency a standout trait in her public presence. 

About her platform, Alexa Kate said:

“I peel back layers until I’m ready to share things other people would never let see the sun.” 

“Why Should I Be Sorry?” follows the emotional turbulence that comes following a breakup. Alexa Kate explores themes of love, loss, and forgiveness in her poignant lyrics, singing “Even after all you put me through / I hate that I still don’t hate you”. She continues with powerful lyrics, “I don’t know if I can say that it was love / But I felt it”. 

Alexa Kate’s touching lyrics are backed up with upbeat melodies that make you want to listen over and over again. Alexa Kate’s debut EP will follow this single next month, as well as a show with pop artist Kenzie Cait on July 24.
