As the seasons change and the sun fades, Louie Rubio is holding onto that summer feeling in his latest single “Echo.” The track is heavy with longing yet light in production, relying on echoing harmonies and dreamy reverb to complete a full-bodied, calm sound.
“Echo” fits right into Rubio’s well-known discography of pop, R&B, indie, and dance blends. The LA based “one stop shop” writer, producer and engineer has amassed over 70 million streams, major collaborations and features in numerous publications like The New York Times, Variety, Hypebeast, and more.
Complex and XXL call Rubio a “seasoned act” who can” churn out big records” and “light up the radio all summer.”
Originally from Honduras, Rubio weaves both English and Spanish into his work and was recently crowned a “New Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone Español for his single “Find Your Light,” another blended track infused with gospel and rock.
His musical prowess expands into film and television, with credits on Logan (2017), Baywatch (2017), Shahs of Sunset (2012), and most notably Baz Luhrmann’s The Get Down (2016). The track “Set Me Free” was a genre-bending collaboration by Rubio and Nile Rodgers and the Americanos, written for Luhrmann and later awarded Best Song by The Guild of Music Supervisors.
Rubio’s debut album is set to release this year.
