Matt Maeson’s Asheville show strikes deep

Date:

Matt Maeson took the stage at The Orange Peel in Asheville. Touring on his A Quite and Harmless Living tour, Maeson reminded everyone in the packed room why his music hits home.

Opening the night, Joe P brought his signature mix of alt-rock grit. He performed tracks like “Off My Mind” and “All Day I Dream About” and by the time the final chord rang out, the crowd primed for the only Matt Maeson.

With the house lights dimmed and a low hum rolling through the speakers, Maeson walked out on stage kicking off with “A Good Start.” He immediately plunged the crowd into his world as he tore through a set that balanced old favorites with newer songs from his recent album, A Quite and Harmless Living.

During “Cringe,” Maeson stepped back from the mic, and let the crowd take the chorus. Maeson’s presence was humble yet commanding. Between songs, he spoke softly, almost shyly, before tearing into another track.

For the encore, Maeson blended “All My Wars” seamlessly into “Legacy.”
