In between dates of their co-headlining tour with Stone Temple Pilots, Southern California-based rock band, Rival Sons stopped in LA to perform a special solo-headline show at The Wiltern. The group was supported by two local bands — Warbly Jets and Delta Shade; the latter includes vocalist and bassist Chad Buchanan, younger brother of Rival Sons’ front man, Jay Buchanan. Each set was filled with heavy guitars and powerful vocals, but it was Rival Sons’ performance that was the perfect, fiery climax to the evening. Fans were delighted to hear the band play songs off their new album Feral Roots as well as a few deep cuts like “Sleepwalker,” a song off Rival Sons’ 2011 self-titled EP. The combination of Jay Buchanan’s boisterous, commanding voice and Scott Holiday’s ability to look effortlessly cool while skillfully shredding away at the guitar made for an incredible show.
