Jessie Murph’s sold out hysteria in Nashville

Date:

From the moment the lights dimmed at a sold out Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville, TN, Jessie Murph emerged under a solitary spotlight, the rest of the stage swallowed in darkness, her voice cutting through: soft, raw, intimate.

Jessie opened her set with “Gucci Mane,” followed by “1965” as dancers in retro-costume stepped out, their movements mirrored by Jessie. During “Sex Hysteria,” Jessie was spun slowly on a platform, the ropes framing her dramatically, warped in a maze of lights.

She pivoted between bruising honesty and playful swagger throughout the night. “Heroin” and “It Ain’t Right” hit heavy, stripped back to their emotional bones, while “Dirty” and “Bad as the Rest” pulsed with swaggering beats. At one point, she brought a fan onstage for a surprise duet of “Pray,” blurring the line between performer and audience in the most intimate way.

The energy never stayed in one lane with a medley of “Cold / Cowboys and Angels / Wild Ones” showcased her genre-hopping ease. Jessie closed the night with her current hit “Blue Strips”.

Murph’s ability to embody contrast between pop-star polish and raw lyrics, the night was built on a platform where fans could scream, laugh, cry, and feel seen all in one breath.
