idobi Radio’s Sophomore Year of the Summer School Tour rolled into The Masquerade in Atlanta with a fierce lineup of up and coming artists ranging from alt-rock to pop-punk and metal-core. Curated with the ethos of affordability and artist development, the tour once again lived up to its reputation as a vital launching pad for the next generation of heavyweights.
With each night offering a different lineup for the fans, Atlanta tour hosted Taylor Acorn as the headliner with direct support from Rain City Drive and Charlotte Sands, while Arrows in Action, If Not For Me, BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT,and Huddy warmed up the crowd.
From Huddy kicking off the night at 5 PM sharp, to Taylor Acorn closing the show, each artist brought their unique voice and stage presence to a passionate crowd that hung on every note.
Opening the night with undeniable charisma, Huddy set the tone for the evening, warming up the crowd. Kicking off his set with “Vendetta,” which was released back in June. Following with “All the Things I Hate About You,” Huddy performed his most viral track. Continuing to showcase his polished alt-rock sound infused with pop-punk aggression, Huddy wrapped up his set with “The Eulogy of You and Me” and “Cyanide,” but not before joking that he wished his set was a little bit longer, but he did his job as the opener getting the crowd ready for the remaining six artists.
BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT came to the stage next with their mix of alt-rock infused with punk-rock and grunge elements. Starting off with “FEVER” and performing fan favorites like “SEX APPEAL,” “A$$A$$IN,” the band knew how to work the crowd and give their all. Giving a bonus to the crowd, they band performed a new song “TWO OF US,” from their upcoming album WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?. Ending off their night with arguably their most “live powered studio track,” BEAUTY SCHOOL DROPOUT performed “FIGHT MODE” before saying goodbye to the crowd.
Up next and hailing from, Pennsylvania, If Not For Me brought their metal-core intensity with a set that was the heaviest for the night. Having played the Masquerade twice before, once as recently as their tour with Catch Your Breath and The Funeral Portrait earlier this year, the quintet kicked off their set with “Demons” followed by “Say It To My Face” and “Blameless.” Their signed debut album Everything You Wanted (March 2025) paired with their live performance proved why with their raw energy and desire to connect with the crowd is going to carry them far. Ending their set, the band gave it their all with a performance of their biggest song to date, “Feel Me Now.”
Coming out with their full tracksuits, Arrows in Action engaged the audience immediately with tracks like “Feel It Again” and “Cheekbones” from Part B to their upcoming album, I Think I’ve Been Here Before. Before moving on to their next song, the band took time to show the crowd how to do their viral TikTok dance before performing “Head in the Clouds.” Ending the night with “Uncomfortably Numb,” it was clear the crowd was not ready for the band to end their set.
Fresh off the release of her newest single “neckdeep” just the day before, Charlotte Sands delivered a set full of raw pop-rock, brat grit. Songs like “Tantrum,” “pity,” and “use me” highlighted her ability to channel vulnerability into powerful performances. Sand’s ensured the crowd that it was okay to be you and that no matter what, you were accepted before performing her most notable track, “Dress.” Finishing off the night with “HUSH,” one of Sand’s dancier tracks.
Commanding the stage with their blend of post-alt-rock, Rain City Drive kicked off their set with “Lose My Composure” from their most recent album Things Are Different Now (September 2024). They continued their set with their newest track released at the beginning of tour, “Ride or Die,” followed by “Frozen,” and “Blood Runs Cold.” No Rain City Drive set is complete without “Talk to a Friend” which the band played before ending their set with “Medicate Me.”
Closing out the night, Taylor Acorn brought an emotive pop-punk energy that kept the crowd moving until the show was over. Acorn kicked off her set with “Hell of a Show” projecting the type of set fans were about to get, followed by her newest track since being signed with Fearless Records, “Goodbye, Good Riddance.” Acorns’s set was a perfect capstone to the event of seven artists that performed, leaving the audience buzzing and eager for everyones next releases and tour schedules.
