Andy Shauf introduces us to Norm in Nashville

Date:

Andy Shauf’s tour stop in Nashville was a highly anticipated show, as he had been dropping singles the past few months with a puzzling story. His new album, Norm, released on February 10th, which finally allowed the listener to hear the full story of a person named Norm. Andy Shauf has a unique way in telling a story that can be quite contradictory to the way the melody is presented. The show was sold out at the Basement East with decade-long fans to new excited ears. The stage was dressed in beautiful leaves crawling up the microphones and instruments stands, creating a warm, inviting set. It was a treat to see so many wind instruments including two clarinets at times, two flutes during others and a tenor saxophone. Not to mention the brilliant drummer who has a few solos in between songs where he leads us into the next song. The set was a show stopper having Shauf’s tasteful tone and portamento singing. They have started the tour off strong and indubitably will mesmerize the audience throughout the US and into Europe.
