With nine albums now under their belt, Of Mice & Men have reached the rare point where longevity and evolution go hand in hand. Just after the release of their brand new album, Another Miracle, which dropped on Friday, November 14, the band hit Warped Tour in full force.

Melodic Magazine sat down with the band backstage at Warped Tour Orlando to talk about what keeps them “addicted” to creating, how authenticity shapes every record, and what’s on the horizon as they look ahead to 2026.

You guys had a big weekend! Friday your album Another Miracle came out, and you guys are playing today at Warped Tour. How does it feel being a band long enough, well, to start with, to have nine albums?
Aaron
: Oh, it’s a blessing. Truly. There’s no other word for it.

What’s the most different from this perspective compared to any of your other previous releases?
Aaron
: It’s funny because it sounds like a dismissive answer, but it’s not really that much different because we are addicted to making music together. We just consistently create songs and eventually you have enough songs to release as an album.

I think that for us, the approach is always the same, which is we let our hearts and our excitement be our guide instead of trying to make either quantitative or qualitative decisions based out of fear of not reaching certain metrics or things like that. We very much just try and create from an honest place, and then each album tends to be sort of like a yearbook for whatever was happening in all of our lives at that time. It makes it very authentic, which I feel like nowadays is very important.

Honesty in music is the most important thing that you could have, especially being able to share that with so many people. And when there’s a lot of people listening, it’s important to be honest.

With the new album out, is there a hidden gem on the album that you feel might be overlooked, that you want people to listen to?
Aaron: Have you seen the scene in Snow White when they all start going into the cave and there’s kind of gemstones everywhere and some of them are peeking out and some of them you don’t see until they crack into the rock and one peeks out?

I think it’s kind of all over the place and I think there’s going to be something for everybody in there. And I think the more you want to dig, the deeper it will go because we put a lot of heart and a lot of thought into the depth, rather than trying to build something that’s large and aggrandizing. We try and think of it like a deep pool.. how deep can we make it, instead of how big can we make it.

You guys wrote and produced the album. Were there any challenges doing it all yourself compared to previously, when you had more people telling you what to do?
Aaron: There always are, but truthfully, because we really, really love it, it just puts us even closer to the work and closer to the final product, and it sort of ensures that we’re not playing a game of telephone where the initial idea is somewhat lost in translation by the time it gets to the listener. It’s very much like the idea is what the listener hears, you know?

When you go into making an album, do you go in thinking, “This is the story we want to tell,” or “We’re feeling this song, this song, and this song” and at the end hope they all kind of go together?
Aaron
: We always will start a body of work, we’ll create a bunch of music, and then we kind of just sit with it for a little bit. We try and figure out what excites us, and then we just get to work creating as many songs as we can within the allotted timeframe.

And then we pick from those what we feel tells the story, which is also a really hard thing because for us, every single song is so important, and we treat every song like it is the most important thing on the album. So we end up with more songs than fit on the album, and then that becomes a little challenging.

You guys have been booked and busy. Sonic Temple, Welcome to Rockville, Louder Than Life, Aftershock, Rocklahoma, Warped Tour… wow. Is there anything that stuck out to you of all of those?
Aaron
: Aftershock was wonderful. It was the first time my daughter, who’s five months old, got to come out, and my mom and dad were there. Tino’s wife was there. We filmed a music video there too for our single “FLOWERS,” and it’s a pretty powerful music video. We kind of just wanted to document the day a little bit and I know that when we saw it back we all kind of got a little emotional seeing how powerful it actually was.

Valentino: And it’s kind of like an out-of-body experience. For us, we’ve been playing festivals and shows for so long. We’ve been a band, nine albums, 16 years. It can start to feel, not repetitive, but like we’re kind of used to it, and having that out-of-body experience, getting to watch it back in a very professionally, cinematically filmed setting, it was just really powerful. It’s something that we’re so excited that we got to share with our audience and with our family too. They got to be a part of our music video and it’s something really special.

So check it out. It’s for the song “Flowers” off our new album Another Miracle.

You guys have been a band for 16 years, which is a long time. Obviously there have been a lot of band changes. Is there any words of wisdom that you would tell beginning-band you, compared to now, looking back?
Aaron
: There is a quote that says, “The person who loves walking will always walk further than the person who loves the destination.” Learn to love making music and don’t worry about where it takes you, and it will take you further than if you strive for where you’re trying to get to.

Valentino: Yeah, and always just have patience. Patience is a virtue and it’s something that you have to practice all the time. So don’t get too caught up in the comparison or trying to make it some sort of competition, because being in a band is an absolute blessing. To have people that care about your music is one of the most incredible things that you can have as an artist, as a musician. And it is absolutely not a competition out here. It’s just something that we all get to do and if you’re having fun, you’ll do it for longer than the person that doesn’t. Just have fun with it.

With everything this year, what’s next? What does ’26 look like for you guys?
Aaron
: We’re still working on booking it. More shows.

Valentino: World tours.

Aaron: World tours, more new music, because we have already started working on new music, because that’s just what happens when you love it. Because truly, that’s the respite from the entertainment side of this, you know?
