Most can agree that live music is something that connects us all and breaks us away from reality. The stress and business of life is replaced with a refreshing breath of color from the addictive tunes to the passion of the fans and artists. GROUPLOVE—an explosive indie rock band—wanted to encapsulate the unexplainable magic and irreplaceable human touch of live music and specifically capture a snapshot of their 2024 winter tour forever.

Their very first live album, Rock N’ Roll You Won’t Save Me [Live], released on May 30, 2025, isn’t just a live album to them; it’s an ode to live music and a call to keep it alive. It also is a celebration of their time together as a close-knit band and all the beauty that comes with performing in front of a loyal, supportive crowd.

In February 2024, GROUPLOVE hit the road on their Rock And Roll You Won’t Save Me Tour with a colorful discography and desire to fill venues with love. On March 16, 2024, they played at the Rivera Theatre in Chicago where this live album was recorded. There is no doubt that GROUPLOVE touched the lives of many rock n’ rollers with this two-month tour, giving them an unforgettable experience that most likely replays on a loop in their heads.

Luckily for any fan trying to satisfy their craving of reliving the magic of that tour, GROUPLOVE has heard you loud and clear, also wanting to commemorate their personal memories and emotions associated with that precious time in their life. Rock N’ Roll You Won’t Save Me (Live) is a creative and strategic mix of their discography that encapsulates their unreal live energy and vocals into a 96-minute long double LP. This album is nothing short of a cathartic rock experience that bleeds passion and energy: two things that keep rock alive.

GROUPLOVE has a little bit of everything on this live album, truly showcasing their dynamic style and growth as musicians over the years. Featuring tracks from their first 2011 album, Never Trust a Happy Song, to their newest album release, I Want It All Right Now, this time capsule proves their performances to be timeless. Fan favorites, such as “Tongue Tied,” “Colours,” “Ways to Go,” and “Raspberry,” were released over a decade ago, but still remain relevant and prove themselves worthy of a spot on their setlists time and time again. It’s no surprise that on the live album those tracks are filled with loud cheers, explosive vocals, and immersive energy. From the fan’s perspective, there’s no better feeling than getting the chance to let out the energy bottled up from years of waiting to hear your favorite song live, and from an artist’s perspective, hearing the crowd sing along and reciprocate your energy is unmatchable.

On the day of its release, GROUPLOVE took to Instagram to express what this live album means to them:

“This album is a memory of a beautiful tour, a celebration of that time together and a reminder to continue to support live music. Keep going to shows and give yourself that catharsis whenever you can. Live music connects us to something else- to tones, to colors, to a freedom from the grind and that is beautiful.”

If there’s one thing to take away from this album, it’s to appreciate the beauty of live music and celebrate the magic it brings. The second you press play, GROUPLOVE’s electricity will automatically be pumped into your veins and revive your inner rock n’ roller.
