Tash Sultana and City and Colour join forces on “Ain’t It Kinda Funny”

Date:

Tash Sultana and City and Colour joined forces for their collaboration on “Ain’t It Kinda Funny.” The track beautifully pairs each artist’s strengths with one another to blend distinctive harmonies and seasoned vocals.

“Ain’t It Kinda Funny” was written when Sultana was just a teenager, taking inspiration from her favorite artists, Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, and City and Colour. The single has since been reimagined to reflect on where Sultana stands as an artist today and as someone who is about to enter their thirties. While only knowing one another for a little over a year, City and Colour and Sultana hit it off immediately with Michael John Albert Green (City and Colour), stating, “Tash is one of the most impressive people i’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Their passion and work ethic was inspiring. I’m truly grateful to have been invited to be apart of this.” Sultana adds,

“There’s this pressure that you’ve somehow aged out, but it’s all bullshit. Thirty’s young. Life’s only getting better. I wouldn’t relive my twenties for anything — and that realization bled straight into this song.”
