Chicago psych-rock band Post Animal announced their first new album in three years, IRON, out July 25 via AWAL.

IRON marks the full-circle return of founding member Joe Keery, who left the band in 2017 due to his acting career taking off. Since then, the band scattered geographically and explored side projects, but in 2024, all six original members found themselves back together in the woods of Indiana, writing and recording like no time had passed.

In addition to the announcement, the band released the lead single, “Last Goodbye.” The song is a moody, acoustic-driven track that captures the bittersweet pull of a relationship’s final stretch, layered with electric guitar and insane harmonies.

The album was written and produced by all six members, with engineering from Allison and Charles Glanders, mixing by Djo co-producer Adam Thein and Allison, and mastering by Jared Hirshland.

Post Animal is currently on a sold-out tour across North America and Europe with Djo (Keery’s solo project), and they’ve just announced a small run of headline dates as well. Tickets can be found here.

Preorder/presave IRON here.
