George Redwood yearns to reconnect with himself on “ROOTS”

Date:

Singer-songwriter, George Redwood’s latest single, “ROOTS,” blends contemporary R&B, pop rock, and commercial indie, drawing comparisons to artists like Teddy Swims and Hozier.

Serving as the lead single from an upcoming project consisting of two distinct EPs, “ROOTS” sets a strong precedent for what’s to come. Its themes of resistance, self-rebuilding, and returning to basics make it a compelling introduction to Redwood’s musicianship.

The song captures the feeling of being consumed by external pressures while yearning to reconnect with oneself. Redwood’s ability to translate such a complex emotion speaks to his strength as both a songwriter and performer. The repeated plea of the chorus, “Take me back to my roots again,” captures the song’s central theme — returning to one’s foundation, finding clarity, and reconnecting with an authentic self.

With the next single dropping on March 21st and the first EP landing in May 2025, fans can expect more introspective storytelling and emotionally charged songwriting from this rising artist.
