Selena Gomez fans got the sweetest Valentine’s Day surprise from the singer and her fiancé and record producer, Benny Blanco. Almost four years after the EP Revelación (and five since her last LP Rare), Gomez and Blanco have announced I Said I Love You First, their first full-length album as a couple, due out March 21.
I Said I Love You First will feature 14 tracks, including the album closer, “Scared of Loving You,” which was released alongside the album’s announcement. Both the release of “Scared of Loving You” and the album announcement came as a surprise on the heels of the couple’s engagement announcement in December 2024. Gomez had publicly stated in October of last year that she had “no immediate plans to release new music,” making the surprise announcement all the sweeter. The couple shared via Gomez’s website that the “album came together organically as a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences. It chronicles their entire story – before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.”
The project will be released via SMG Music LLC & Friends Keep Secrets under an exclusive license to Interscope Records, hinting at a shift in Gomez’s and Blanco’s independence as artists (SMG are Gomez’s initials, and Friends Keep Secrets is the title of Blanco’s debut album).
Multiple vinyl variants, signed albums, CDs and new merchandise are available for preorder. Presave/preorder I Said I Love You First now.
