Madison Bailey shows a new side of herself in “Honestly”

Date:

Outer Banks star Madison Bailey continues to shock us all with her talent with her new single “Honestly,” released through Republic Records. The acoustic guitar-driven track complements the emotionally raw lyrics that take front and center. The lyrics speak to personal struggles of Bailey’s and navigating a hard emotional landscape. This new single solidifies how she’s able to channel her emotions into music just as much as acting and she will be releasing a music video soon to accompany the track.

Musically, the song explores different sounds within different genres. There’s a level of softness and tenderness to the tonal quality, but it jumps between indie and pop. There’s an initial gentler strumming of a guitar that sets that stripped-down tone for the audience, but the subtle layered synth really highlights the raw emotions in her tone behind each lyric. However, the lyrics in this track take center stage.

Lyrically, we’re getting a glimpse into Bailey’s mind as she shares “I lost the will to fake it / I can’t take another tragedy / Another day of feeling brokenhearted.” This type of lyricism shows another side to the star that fans have not yet seen. You can hear the intent behind her lyrics and that intention is clear to the listener.

Bailey’s artistic strength definitely shines through in the track, not just in the performance but also in the lyrical composition. Fans are in for a treat, getting a new side of the artist as she explores her musical career.
