Kehlani announces upcoming mixtape ‘While We Wait 2’ set to drop Wednesday

Date:

Following the release of her full-length album Crash (2023) earlier in June, Grammy award-nominated singer-songwriter Kehlani has announced their upcoming mixtape, While We Wait 2, set to drop next Wednesday (Aug. 28) through Atlantic Records. This new mixtape is a follow-up to the first installment in the series, While We Wait (2019), released through TSNMI and Atlantic Records.

Kehlani released their first mixtape, While We Wait, ahead of their sophomore album, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t (2020). The mixtape coincided with the birth of their child, Adeya Young-White, with their ex-boyfriend Javaughn Young-White. It featured nine tracks, including “Footsteps,” “Nunya” and “Nights Like This,” and included collaborations with Musiq Soulchild, Dom Kennedy, Ty Dolla $ign and 6LACK.

The singer will release While We Wait 2 exactly one week before the CRASH WORLD TOUR. The North American leg is expected to begin on Sept. 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and conclude on Nov. 2 in San Francisco, California. Joining them are Anycia and FLO as support.
