Taylor Swift announces 11th studio album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ after Grammy Award win

Date:

Taylor Swift - "The Tortured Poets Department"

Singer-songwriter and pop icon Taylor Swift made waves at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards this year by announcing the release of her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, scheduled for release on April 19.

This announcement came after Swift won the Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year awards for her most recent studio album, Midnights, released in 2022. On the morning of the Grammy Awards, Swift hinted at the new album by updating her profile picture on all social media platforms with a black and white version of the existing cover artwork of Midnights.

Swift shared the cover artwork and a photo of a handwritten note, which reads:

“And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink / All’s fair in love and poetry…

Sincerely, The Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department.”

The Tortured Poets Department will consist of 17 songs and a bonus track titled “The Manuscript,” which will be exclusively available on physical copies of the album.
