Dogstar Delivers a Breathtaking Performance in Nashville, Tennessee

Date:

Dogstar treated the audience to an incredible night of music at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville on December 21st, 2023. Initially scheduled for a single performance the night before, the trio extended their stay due to overwhelming demand, generously delivering back-to-back nights of outstanding shows. Joining them on stage was the California surfer indie band Archer Oh.

Archer Oh kicked off the evening with their distinctive retro indie surfer rock sound, a rare gem in today’s music landscape. Led by lead singer and guitarist Archer Medrano, the band moved across the stage with a blend of solemnity and light-heartedness, captivating the crowd with a Californian swagger. Expressing gratitude for drummer Kevin, who stepped in for the tour, and acknowledging his family in attendance, Archer Oh continued to serenade Nashville with their infectious sound. Their mission to create music that evokes emotions was clearly accomplished.

Closing out the night, Dogstar took the stage with frontman and guitarist Bret Domrose, drummer Robert Mailhouse, and bassist Keanu Reeves completing the trio. The band delivered an enthralling set lasting over an hour, gripping the audience with their 90s alternative rock sound. Mixing new and old songs, including tracks from their recently released album “Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees,” the first since 2000, Dogstar held the audience’s attention until the very end. The encore was nothing short of exceptional, starting with a groovy cover of The Ramones’ “I Want to Be Sedated.”

Dogstar’s performance was epic, living up to the anticipation of fans who had waited over 20 years to see them together again. The trio exhibited a chemistry as if they had been touring together for decades without a break. The night was magical for both dedicated fans and those drawn by the allure of the prominent names in the lineup. Whenever Dogstar graces the stage again, it’s a must-see event.

Dogstar has one final US show on December 31st in Napa, California.
