The 2023 edition of Osheaga proved to be a remarkable and unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts from all walks of life. The festival, held once again in the picturesque setting of Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal, showcased an impressive lineup of artists across various genres, creating an electric atmosphere that lasted for three sensational days.
Over 155,000 ardent music fans from home and abroad reunited to see some of the best musical acts in the world.
On Friday, August 4th, the festival commenced with a performance by the talented British act Holly Humberstone on the Coors Light stage. Her melodious voice made for a perfect opening act for the first day of Osheaga. Following Holly, the band Wallows took to the main stage and warmed up the crowd with his hits “Scrawny” and “Are You Bored Yet?”. The 18-year-old singer Next up was Rina Sawayama delivering a mesmerizing experience from start to finish. With multiple outfit changes and captivating choreography, her set was one of the highlights of the day. Closing the Coors Light stage, Charlotte Cardin played an incredible set. The Quebec singer was added on short notice to replace Aya Nakamura who couldn’t make it to the festival anymore. She delivered an amazing performance following her headlining set at Osheaga back in 2021. The Swedish act Rufus Du Sol closed up the first day of an amazing weekend delivering a great performance with captivating lighting to “Innerbloom” and “You Were Right”.
On Saturday, August 5th, Indie pop band Goth Babe performed on the main stage, delivering a high energy set. The band brought inflatable boats for people to crowd surf on which set the mood for the rest of the day. Next up, Fletcher performed on the Coors Light Stage gathering a huge crowd for her set. Fletcher gave an incredible show playing her viral hit “Becky’s So Hot” as well as “Girls Girls Girls” and a cover of “If You Seek Amy” by Britney Spears. She had everyone jumping and waving their arms from left to right during “All Love”. We then caught 070 Shake’s set on the Chevrolet Vallée stage performing hits such as “Ghost Town” and “Glitter”. She delivered a high energy set where he crowd was singing, jumping, mosh pitting an hopping on each other’s shoulders. , having the crowd singing along to all the words. The Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen illuminated the Green stage with an amazing set performing her hits “Run Away With Me” and “Call Me Maybe” accompanied by the entire crowd singing every single line. To close the second day of Osheaga, multiple Grammy-Award winner Billie Eilish put a spectacular performance. Fans were camping all day to get a good spot at the barricade to see their favourite artist perform. Her set included all of her biggest hits such as “Happier Than Ever”, “Bad Guy” and “When The Party’s Over” as well as her song featured on the Barbie Soundtrack “What Was I Made For?”. In the middle of her set, she brought Armani White to perform his hit song “BILLIE EILISH.” For which the crowd went wild. It was a perfect ending for the day.
On Sunday, August 6th, The Driver Era opened the final day already gathering a crowd early in the day on the Coors Light stage. British singer-songwriter and opening act on Taylor Swift’s Eras tour Beabadoobee gave a phenomenal performance . Her set included fan favourites “10:36” and “Cologne” as her closing song. British singer and pianist Tom Odell left the crowd speechless with his mind-blowing performance, having a 100K festival-goers sang along to the words of “Another Love”. Up next was Central Cee literally bringing the heat with pyro through his set. Closing off the Coors light stage was Fred Again.. mesmerizing the crowd performing his songs on a drum pad. The Hip Hop sensation Kendrick Lamar closed out the festival in beauty, having the crowd jump through his entire set and singing along to his hits “Money Trees” and “HUMBLE”.
Osheaga will be back in Montreal next summer on August 2nd through August 4th for which you can already get tickets here.
