Recently announced as a finalist in SiriusXM’s Top of the Country competition, Teigen Gayse is gearing up to have a phenomenal year. When we last checked in with her, she just released her hit single “I Don’t Need A Boy,” which is currently in the Top 50 of country radio and has an outstanding 31.5 million views on TikTok. She also mentioned the possibility of seeing everyone out on the road. Along with performing at the Cavendish Beach Music Festival in July, Teigen will be performing with Gord Bamford on Part 1 of his Canadian Dirt tour this summer. Following the tour, Teigen will be at the Boots and Hearts Music Festival in August, hitting the stage amongst artists like Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, and Lauren Alaina. Another artist included in the lineup is Nickelback, and after checking out Teigen’s new single “If You Show Me Yours,” you’ll find out that this festival is not the only thing Teigen and Chad Kroeger have in common.
Falling somewhere in between “I Don’t Need A Boy” and “Messed Up,” “If You Show Me Yours” touches on that need to meet somebody you can trust and fully accept. It’s a slow and moody single with lots of melodic swells and vulnerable lyrics, but it also possesses that indistinguishable country charm. Teigen sings, “So if you sneak a pic in a moment of weakness / Just trying to see what’s inside / I’ll drop my cards from my chest / Put my heart to the test one last time / So if you show me yours / I’ll show you mine,” willing to meet this person halfway. Telling us more about “If You Show Me Yours,” Teigen shares,
“I wrote this song with Chad Kroeger and Simon Clow, and it’s one of my favorites to date. It was so fun to create this song with them and bring out this level of vulnerability. After we finished writing, Chad and Chris Baseford ended up producing it. They are both so talented, and it’s honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I hope you love the song as much as I do!”
