Talented American sibling duo The Driver Era kicked of their long-awaited UK and European tour to a huge sold-out crowd at O2 Shepherds Bush Empire on Tuesday night. They kicked off their set with a beautiful track called “Take Me Away” from their 2021 hit album Girlfriend, which featured Ross Lynch on the keys. Both Rocky and Ross Lynch put on such an incredible performance to the ecstatic London crowd, being sure to interact with their fans throughout the entire set and make it an unforgettable night for all their fans. The Driver Era were sure to play a mixture of both old and new tracks, including their latest single from their Summer Mixtape, “Malibu”, “Preacher Man”, “San Francisco” and a cover of Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”. The duo’s sound is so upbeat and uplifting, so it’s no surprise that the fans in the audience were euphoric. Frontman Ross Lynch borrowed plenty of ‘props’ from the fans throughout the set including a feather boa, cowboy hat and shades, which he wore for throughout some of the songs.
To slow down the night during the encore the duo came together to play their track “OMG Plz Don’t Come Around”, it was pretty magical to witness. To conclude the fantastic night they performed two of their largest songs to date, which to this date remain huge fan favourites, “Afterglow” and “A Kiss”, both of which had the entire venue shouting the lyrics and dancing like crazy. It was the perfect way to end such an incredibly special night for the duo.
The Driver Era were supported by their DJ brother Ryland Lynch, who is also their tour manager, and fellow American singer-songwriter Jessarae.
