Windser shifts gears with his heartfelt love song “Shut Up and Kiss Me”

Date:

Windser’s new love-filled single, “Shut Up and Kiss Me,” takes a dramatic turn from his heavy, heart-wrenching single “Abandon” by exploring the gift of closeness and undeniable love in a relationship.

The passionate lyricism and toned-down, slow ballad instrumentation of “Shut Up and Kiss Me” make for the complete expressive love song package. Windser wrote this song about his wife shortly after getting married, drawing both the notes and words directly from his heart to express the commitment and compassion that have shimmered in their relationship ever since.

Along with the single, Windser released a music video featuring only him on stage, ditching the full band for a single amp, electric guitar and a microphone. The dramatic stage lighting and emptiness of the venue combine to create a visual metaphor, equating this solo performance to the truest, most vulnerable form of a songwriter. It feels as if he’s singing this love letter directly to the person meant to receive it.

In contrast to the deeply personal, chilling “Abandon,” this hopeful song is set to close out his self-titled album, Windser, out May 16. By reflecting two vastly different yet equally vulnerable experiences, the album creates a sense of mystery and anticipation for what more Windser will explore and reveal.
