Tyler, the Creator makes return with the announcement of his new album ‘CHROMAKOPIA’

Date:

Rapper and record producer Tyler, the Creator is set to make his long-awaited return with his seventh studio album, CHROMAKOPIA, slated for release on Oct. 28 through Columbia Records. This marks his first album in three years, following 2021’s Call Me If You Get Lost.

Known for consistently dropping albums every other year since his debut with Goblin in 2011, Tyler broke his streak when no project was released in 2023. Now, fans are eagerly anticipating his comeback with CHROMAKOPIA.

Tyler previously teased a track titled “St. Chroma,” which is expected to open the album. The speculation comes after he posted a video on Instagram captioned “1. st chroma.” The clip ends with the reveal of the album’s title, CHROMAKOPIA.

The album appears to draw inspiration from the character Chroma the Great in The Phantom Tollbooth, a conductor whose orchestra brings color to the world. In the teaser video, Tyler is seen directing people into a shipping container in black and white. As the video progresses, he remotely detonates the container, suddenly bringing color into the scene, hinting at the vibrant themes of the album.

Preorder CHROMAKOPIA now.
