Dermot Kennedy has announced a 32-date North American fall tour in support of his upcoming album The Weight of the Woods, set to arrive April 3 via Interscope Records.
The run kicks off September 4 in Minneapolis and wraps October 29 in Vancouver, with support from Jonah Kagen and select dates featuring Hunter Metts. Tickets will be available first through an artist presale beginning April 2 at 12 p.m. PT, with general on-sale starting April 3 at 12 p.m. local time via his official site.
Known for his full-bodied live shows, Kennedy will take on a string of major venues across the U.S. and Canada, including stops at Red Rocks, LA’s Greek Theatre, and Forest Hills Stadium in New York City. The tour follows an already expansive international run, with dates across the UK and Europe beginning in May, including a return to London’s O2 on June 5—his largest stretch across the region to date.
Alongside the tour announcement, Kennedy continues to build anticipation for The Weight of the Woods, previewing the record with a handful of new tracks. The lead single “Funeral” leans into his signature mix of raw intensity and soaring melody, while “Honest” and “Refuge” offer a more stripped-back, reflective look at the themes shaping the album.
In the lead-up to the release, Kennedy has also opted for a more intimate approach, surprising fans with pop-up shows in Los Angeles and New York, along with a series of record store performances across the UK. The smaller settings have offered a rare chance to see the songs up close, often blending new material with covers and older favorites.
Largely written and recorded near his home in Ireland with longtime collaborator Gabe Simon, the fourteen-track project draws heavily from that landscape—both sonically and lyrically—marking what looks to be one of Kennedy’s most personal releases to date.
