The Moss became a band as spirited teenagers growing up on the coast of Oahu. Since then, they’ve grown up and graduated to themes of love, loss, and darkness. Despite this newfound depth in their lyrics, that same childlike wonder from their early days as a group remains perfectly in tact. Their latest single “Darkness” captures the pitfall of a tumultuous relationship. The Moss explores the dark corners of love and how oftentimes, we must let someone go before loosing ourselves.
“Darkness” mesmerizes with frantic riffs, haunting harmonies, and coursing percussion that reverberates through your core. Lead vocalist Tyke James sings, “Lately I’m just tired of darkness all the time.” The song is packed to the brim with eccentric layers of vocal overlays and brooding bass lines that cultivate an unforgettable atmosphere.
The Moss is made up of members Tyke James (vocals/guitar), Addison Sharp (guitar), Willie Fowler (drums) and Caiden Jackson (bass). “Darkness” sets the stage as the first single off their upcoming EP. If the rest of the project sounds anything like “Darkness”, we’ll be listening.
