After 30 years, The Cranberries are rereleasing their iconic sophomore album, No Need to Argue, with a few additional surprises!

The limited-edition deluxe set, releasing on June 27 will include the original beloved songs from the album, with the additional special remixes of “Zombie,” recreated as an electrifying dance track, and a dreamy rendition of “Ode to My Family” by CHVRCHES member Iain Cook.
”Iain was very nervous about doing ‘Zombie’ because of its legacy. I told him not to worry about what other people think and just go for it,” said Fergal Lawler, The Cranberries Drummer. “Originally, he went down the traditional Irish music route but then decided to do something dance-ier, which has worked out brilliantly.”
Then, on August 15, a 2LP Deluxe Edition, 2CD Deluxe Edition, 1LP Deluxe Edition, 2CD Deluxe Edition, and a Digital Deluxe will be released. These editions will include a previously unreleased demo of “Zombie,” live recordings of the band’s performance at Woodstock ‘94, and an MTV Unplugged that originally aired in 1995.
Released on Oct. 3, 1994, via Island Records, the album was a breakthrough for the band, leading to chart-topping, global success. Most notable from No Need to Argue is the ever-relevant song “Zombie.” Written about the political unrest in Ireland known as “The Troubles,” the song reflects on the innocent children who were killed in the violence. Lead vocalist Dolores O’Riordan put it best:
“People say we shouldn’t have done ‘Zombie’ but, excuse me, I’m Irish. I’m a human being. I’m allowed to have feelings about the North, the same way I’m allowed to have feelings about what’s going on in Bosnia. I express those feelings in my songs. It’s up to people whether they want to listen to them or not.”
No Need to Argue is a testament to the influence and cultural importance of The Cranberries, and these deluxe editions only set up to further the band’s impact with the combination of new, reimagined and original songs.
