It’s mind-blowing to think that the holiday season is here. Wasn’t May only, like, two months ago? And now it’s Thanksgiving?! Well, more like Thanksgivingmas, as the holiday tends to be overshadowed by candy canes, reindeer, and tinsel… But as they say, it’s easier to join in on the fun than try to stop it or ignore it, and Shab is ready to slay—rather, sleigh—all day.
For years, “Santa Baby” has been a cherished holiday classic, with a plethora of notable artists crafting their own versions of the sultry tune. One of these artists is rising Persian-American pop artist Shab. For her rendition, she wraps the track in her playful pop style and adorns it with a festive and fun bow, making it a shimmering addition to any Christmas playlist. She then brings this song to life in the video below, where we see Shab dressed up in fabulous winter attire and dancing along to the song in a world of presents, snow, and lots of the season’s signature color—red.
Overall, “Santa Baby” is the cherry on top of an excellent year for Shab. Her sophomore album, One Suitcase, was released to much acclaim in February, taking her on an extensive radio and television tour around the U.S. She then earned her first U.S. Pop Top 40 hit with “Lipstick,” a sassy, ‘80s-inspired song about independence and femininity. There’s also the tour she did with U.K. boy band The Wanted, where she delivered stand-out performances to audiences around the U.S. Her recent singles, such as “Dance Til You’re Free,” set her up for an unstoppable new year with more music to come.
