San Francisco Bay area native John Vesely, better known by his moniker Secondhand Serenade, is performing a one-night-only concert in Nashville, TN on October 24 in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Awake.

Released as a demo in 2005, Vesely sold more than 15,000 copies of Awake independently and became MySpace’s #1 unsigned independent artist in late 2006. The album was officially released on February 6, 2007 after Vesely was signed to Glassnote Records.

The anniversary show will take place at Marathon Music Works in Nashville with special guests Every Avenue.

Vesely announced the concert on his Instagram, with a lighthearted note stating: “String quartet included, tears guaranteed.

If you can’t make the October 24 performance, Vesely is also anticipated to perform on the Emo’s Not Dead cruise taking place in 2026.

You can order tickets to “A Secondhand Symphony” here.
