In his new single, “I Wanna Dive in the Seven Seas,” School of X, also known as Rasmus Littauer, blends alternative pop with a super sweet string section to create a song that explores the delicate balance of life. As he grapples with his desire to do everything he wants while realizing the need to slow down and care for himself, the track captures his journey of wanting to let go and fully embrace life’s experiences: “Not a teardrop falling from my eye / This is the last day for a long / That I’m moving on / I want to dive in the seven seas / And walk the line / I won’t be looking back again.”
The song is masterful pop, with a catchy chorus, filled with punchy drums and yet a unique sense of musical style. School of X knows how to hook his listeners. Gaining international acclaim, NPR’s Stephen Thompson said, “Littauer’s arty inspirations and aspirations don’t drown out his pop sensibilities.”
With a shredding electric guitar section towards the end of the song, the single picks up some edge and drives Rasmus’ message home. About the single, Rasmus says:
“I’ve always strived to reach the seventh heaven. To be truly happy without any pain or worries. I understand more and more how life is like a scale that needs to be balanced.”
Producer Søren Buhl Lassen and the band behind Seventh Heaven—Naomi Lachmi, Tobias Laust, and Rune Risager—are set to continue their journey in melancholic pop.
