ROREY Sings an Ode to Isolation on New Single “Sleepwalking”

Date:

ROREY is a rising voice in the New York indie-pop scene. Characterized by her effervescent yet dark vocals, her visceral songwriting, and her dynamic hooks, ROREY creates a sonic experience like no other. Her newly released single “Sleepwalking” is off her upcoming EP Dysphoria and explores her journey with bipolar disorder and disassociation.

“Sleepwalking” blossoms with riveting riffs, percussion that echoes like a midnight tunnel, and dreamlike vocals that ruminate on ROREY’s distorted grip on reality. Revealing more on her track, ROREY admits, “I wanted to paint this vivid image of me walking down the street experiencing life in a way that made absolutely no sense. I felt so delusional and removed at the time; (sleepwalking) through life in this almost dream-like state.” Her lyrics dive deep beneath the surface to capture the feeling of being isolated, out of touch, and disconnected. ROREY pinpoints the profound by turning inward and tuning her abstract emotions to song.

ROREY’s upcoming EP Dysphoria further explores her complex emotions as an artist, her journey with mental health, and her gripping sense of self. “Sleepwalking” is her latest release.
