“Due to incredible demand,” Canadian prog-rock band Rush announced they are expanding the North American headlining Fifty Something Tour set for summer 2026. The upcoming shows will be the band’s first tour since 2015, and will celebrate their music, legacy, and the life of their late drummer, Neil Peart.
Expanded to 23 shows, the tour added new dates in key cities throughout the continent, including Los Angeles, Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, Toronto, and Cleveland. The Fifty Something Tour will kick off on Jun. 7, 2026, in Los Angeles, California, at the Kia Forum, and conclude on Sept. 19, 2026, at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
The 2026 tour will feature co-founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson with the addition of German drummer and composer Anika Nilles.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees shared that the two sets played each night will be unique, created from a distinct selection of greatest hits and fan favorite songs.
Fans can sign up for pre-sale on the Ticketmaster website, here. General on-sale begins Friday, Oct. 17 here. More information is available on Rush’s official website, here.
Vocalist and bassist Geddy Lee shared,
“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of RUSH alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil. A lifetime’s worth of songs that we had put our cumulative hearts and souls into writing, recording and playing together onstage. And so, after all that has gone down since that last show, Alex and I have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we fucking miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of RUSH music. So in 2026 my BFF Lerxst (aka Alex Lifeson) and I are going to hit the road once again to pay tribute to our past and to Neil by performing a vast selection of RUSH songs in a handful of cities.”
Lee and Alex Lifeson recently participated in an on-stage interview at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, which they were inducted into in 2013, discussing the band’s history and the announcement of the upcoming tour.
The pair also provides insight into their upcoming shows after 50 years of being a band, and the process of reforming for the first time since the passing of their drummer, Neil Peart, in 2020. Lee shared, “Our idea was not to try to be Rush 2.0, […] Just to pay homage to our music, pay homage to our lost brother, and represent the songs, and celebrate the songs.”
