Nostalgix and Bipolar Sunshine step into the light on “Power”

Date:

We joined Nostalgix on a riveting journey last year when she released “Don’t Keep Me Waiting,” the first in a trilogy of singles. A few months later, she dropped “Show Me Love,” which continued the story she told on “Don’t Keep Me Waiting.” Both tracks focused on Nostalgix’s personal growth and movement out of a dark space, touching on themes of support and lost identity. For her first single of the year, Nostalgix is bringing this journey to an end – and she’s doing it all with help from her Dim Mak labelmate Bipolar Sunshine.

On “Power,” Nostalgix and Bipolar Sunshine turn their strife into strength. Throughout the single, Nostalgix incorporates her signature bass house sound, adorning the track with prominent beats and empowering melodies. Meanwhile, Bipolar Sunshine’s gentle yet commanding vocals guide us into the light and bring a resilient spirit to lines like, “‘Cause you give me power.” You can check it out in the video below, which ties together the previous videos for “Don’t Keep Me Waiting” and “Show Me Love.”

About “Power,” Nostalgix shares,

“‘Power’ truly captures the growth and transformation I was experiencing in my life at the time. When I was making ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting’ and ‘Show Me Love,’ I was going through a very dark period in my life. ‘Power’ truly felt like the time where I was coming out of that struggle, stepping into my true self, and embracing strength. Embracing my power.

The music video for ‘Power’ is by far my favorite I’ve directed yet. A huge shoutout to Giovanni Carbajal for helping bring that vision to life and working so hard by my side to make the video what it is today. Fun fact, if you watch the music video for ‘Don’t Keep Me Waiting,’ then ‘Show Me Love,’ then ‘Power,’ you’ll see the beautiful storyline and transformation that happens within those records, along with some hidden messages in the videos.”
