Nick Jonas has done everything an artist is supposed to do and then some, yet he still feels under appreciated. He’s conquered pop superstardom with his brothers, built a successful solo career, and hit both the big screen and the Broadway stage. After spending 2025 celebrating twenty years of the Jonas Brothers, Nick is ready to share his latest solo venture, Sunday Best, in 2026. The record will be released on February 6, 2026, and features his latest single, “Gut Punch.”
The phrase “the loudest critic is often the one in the mirror” couldn’t be more true. Nick Jonas’ “Gut Punch” has arrived as 2026’s anthem for how self-sabotage can become the biggest antagonist in our own lives. In a video shared to Instagram, Jonas reflects on why he chose the first of the year to release it, a day where our own whispers are often the loudest. “There’s a lot of pressure, I feel like, to be the perfect version of yourself at the start of the year, and that’s just not possible—and that’s okay,” he says.
Over the past few months, Jonas has been performing “Gut Punch” for audiences on the JONAS20: Greetings From Your Hometown Tour, most recently during the Samsung TV Plus New Year’s Eve celebration. I’ve personally had the song stuck in my head for months, and technically, it’s only been out for a day: “Hit me like a gut punch, I hurt my own feelings / How did I get so good at being mean to myself? / I should turn the heat down, tell myself to chill out / Damn, I really hate the way I talk to myself.”
